Mary Kalin-Casey is an artist and writer based in Oakland, California. She was born in Berkeley, raised in Poughkeepsie, NY, and graduated from Massachusetts College of Art and Design in Boston.
She has been involved with the “Hands and Pants” project since its inception in 2011. In conjunction with its debut at Swarm Gallery in Oakland, she also partnered with John Casey to produce Call and Response, a collaborative book that paired her short-form writing with his drawing.
She is currently working on a series of paintings that explore the discomfort of cloaking personal identity within the artificial construct of a corporate work environment.
